We discussed in our last blog post, some estate planning matters that are essential for young single adults. For many individuals, the time when they are single and unattached is a relatively short period of time. While finding love can happen at any age, many people tend to meet a future spouse or life partner while they are in their 20s or 30s. When a serious significant other enters the picture, it's important to make changes and updates to estate planning documents such as a will, health care proxy and durable power of attorney.

As people grow through different life stages, responsibilities and expectations change and evolve. As such, it stands to reason that the estate planning needs of a single 20-year-old man would be very different from those of a 40-year-old married father of four. Regardless of age or life-stage, however, matters related to estate planning should continue to be top of mind and dealt with accordingly.
